About Me

I've worked as a professional carpenter since 1999, but my interest in building started in my childhood when I used to construct things in the backyard and assist my father with his projects. As I grew up, I vividly recall observing houses being framed and carpenters laying plywood on the roof, thinking to myself, "I want to do that!" Reflecting on those experiences, I consider myself fortunate to have had both the passion and mindset to pursue my love for carpentry from a young age.

Education

After completing high school in 1995, I pursued a degree in small business management at Oakland Community College. In 1999, I began my apprenticeship with the Detroit Carpentry Apprenticeship Program (JATC), a nationally recognized training facility for carpentry excellence. Graduating after four years, I left with more than just a diploma; I carried with me the inspiring words of an instructor who constantly encouraged me to never settle for mediocrity. This guidance, along with my passion, commitment to quality, and strong work ethic, continues to drive my pursuit of both client and personal fulfillment. Blending the roles of artisan and carpenter, I take pleasure in creatively combining various woods, stone, metals, stains, and glass to craft distinctive, high-quality designs.

Hobbies

In my personal time, I am deeply engaged in the art of photography, a hobby that allows me to capture and explore the world's intricate beauty through the lens of my camera. This creative pursuit complements my professional work with Wood House Carpentry, where I specialize in timber framing. Timber framing for Wood House Carpentry not only harnesses my craftsmanship skills but also feeds into my artistic sensibilities, mirroring the precision and aesthetics I cherish in photography. Whether I'm framing a sturdy structure or framing a perfect shot, both activities are driven by a keen eye for detail and a profound appreciation for artistry in all its forms.
